CHOMP

I should i ought i may i might

And as it seems- I must

Put one more single thing on me

And I will turn to dust

Everybody else can do it

What is wrong with me?

Being a good human:

Cracking spitting out my teeth

I have always been so good

I've always been so kind

I want to rip your eyes out of your sockets with my mind

I’m trying to learn to hate

I've come of age of mind so late

Get too close and I will bite

I shouldnt, oughtnt, mustnt

Might

Good kittens keep their claws in

Bad mouths get muzzled shut

All my life I’ve known this

And aimed the struggle thus:

If I can’t bite the hand that hurts

Because it also feeds

Then by the gods I’ll feed myself

And no-one will touch me

When I am full of miseries

I crush them down to naught

It leaves me with a hollow

Swollen aching in my gut

Then I long to unhinge my jaw

And cover up the howls

By stuffing stuffing stuffing

Everything into my jowls

Block the pain with sweet and spicy

Swallow till you cannot breathe

Not sure if i can be happy

But I know that i can feed

Tiny bites and giant ones

Simple and complex

I will fill my gullet til

my stomach fills my chest

No room left then for a heartbreak

No room left for twisting guts

Enough salt to kill a baby

Kill me, baby, fuck.
